For the Basecap project, worn-out jeans become the starting point. Each piece is carefully selected, then bleached by hand. Through an elaborate chemical process, the fabric awakens into new colorways — unpredictable, alive, and impossible to repeat.

The original patterns are deconstructed, cut apart, and rearranged. Disorder is introduced deliberately, creating tension and irritation that define the character of the cap. This disruption reflects a deeper questioning of traditional design processes, grounded in precision, intention, and excellent workmanship.

Designed for the urban playground, the 5-panel construction reaches its perfect shape once fitted and tightened. A short, sharp brim adds edge, while a soft elastic binding finishes the seams, preventing fraying. The closure system — a slotted loop with a tri-glide and fine PA strap — is built to last, nearly indestructible by design.

On our hunt for abandoned precious leather sofas which won't make it to a new home, we save the valuable leather material from decay.”
